Myoko Shuttle and Nagana Snow Shuttle transfer is the easiest way to get here directly from the airport. It may take longer compared to train travel, but you can avoid the stress of negotiating timetables and lugging your bags around train stations. You can book a scheduled bus with Myoko Shuttle or Nagano Snow Shuttle which both have departure times per day from Haneda Airport and from Narita Airport and select locations around Tokyo. The trip takes about 5.5 hours. Myoko Shuttle is the most direct and fastest bus service from Tokyo to Madarao Kogen and Myoko Kogen. Myoko Shuttle service will drop you off in Madarao or Akakura Myoko Kogen, from there Shofusha Lodge can provide a pick-up service.

Travel by train to Myoko Kogen involves a train from Narita and Haneda Airport to Tokyo, then a Shinkansen (bullet train) direct to Iilyama station. From the international airports the total trip takes about 2.5 to 4 hours depending upon connection timing. You may want to consider sending your luggage to Shofusha lodge when you arrive at the airport. There are several companies that operate, the biggest is Yamato and you can easily recognize the yellow symbol with 2 black cats. Black Cat Luggage system is better than having to lug your bags around Tokyo and the Train system. In particular, the space on the Shinkansen can be limited for larger items. Shofusha Lodge can provide a pick-up service from Iilyama Station on request. Other transfer alternatives are available and can be discussed when you have confirmed your travel dates.
